WHITE BIRD, ID – Sunday March 13
Celebrate St. Paddy’s Day in White Bird at the 9th Annual Joe Wilson St. Paddy’s White Bird Sausage Feed. It’s held at the beautiful, old IOOF Hall in downtown White Bird from 7:30 am to Noon (PDT). Cost is $8/adult and $4/youngster.
You don’t have to be Irish to enjoy this annual, community event!!! The Rebekah IOOF Hall is decorated for St. Patrick’s Day . The Old Time Fiddlers will perform throughout the morning.
Breakfast is served “family style”…sausage, eggs, pancakes, hot coffee and orange juice. The delicious, fresh sausage is prepared by Mt. View Meats in Riggins. You can buy a 4 lb. chub for $13 and take some home to enjoy at a later date. The Canyon House is taking preorders; call Verna, 839.2777.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the newly formed White Bird Area Recreation District, in memory of Joe and Ada Wilson.
How did it all start???
Long-time resident Joe Wilson (now deceased) was always impressed with the Clearwater Sausage Feed and thought a similar event would be a nice addition to White Bird. So, we went to the Clearwater Sausage Feed to learn how it was done. Our breakfast is traditionally the Sunday before St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th). This has turned out to be a very popular event for folks all around the White Bird area. Come and join us, won’t you? You’ll be glad you did! Good food and great company. Joe will join us in spirit.
