May the Luck of the Irish Be With You!

The White Bird Chamber folks are busy this time of year planning their annual sausage breakfast.

Joe Wilson at Sausage Feed in White Bird, ID This event started 8 years ago when long-time resident Joe Wilson – who always liked a party – urged some of us to put on a sausage feed.  So, we went to the Clearwater Sausage Feed to learn how it’s done.  Since their event was in February, we picked the month of March and decided to call it the ‘ Joe Wilson St. Paddy’s Day Sausage Breakfast ‘ – in honor of him and then decorate the Hall accordingly.

The sausage is a highlight!  We buy it locally from Mt. View Meats in Riggins and they have a special ‘White Bird’ recipe!

On top of a great breakfast served ‘family style’, our local Old Time Fiddlers perform for us most of the morning.

Old Time Fiddlers at White Bird Idaho Sausage Feed We’ve grown from serving just over 100 breakfasts that first year, to nearly 300 in 2014.  We raise money for the Chamber itself, but also donate money to the community.  In 2014, we donated a total of $600:  The local EMTs received $300 (in memory of  Ada Wilson) and The local Royal Gem Rebekahs also received $300.

Come Join Us!  We have a blast, and so will you!
